The Overseas is Vacheron's answer to Nautilus and Royal Oak - sports luxury with a distinctive Maltese cross-inspired bezel design. The 4500V (41mm three-hand) and 5500V (chronograph) are the most sought-after modern references. With the interchangeable strap system (steel, leather, rubber) without tools.
The Patrimony is Vacheron's most purist dress watch - extremely flat, classically round, simple Bâton indices, leather strap. Inspired by 1950s designs, today with a sapphire case back for the exhibition. The Patrimony Self-winding (4100U) is the daily classic, the Patrimony Manual-winding (1110U) for purists.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas - Sporty elegance
The Overseas is the luxury sports watch from VC and the direct competitor to the Patek Nautilus and AP Royal Oak. With its bezel inspired by the Malta cross, the integrated three-bracelet system (steel, leather, rubber - interchangeable without tools) and sporty, elegant lines, it is perfect for suits, weekends and holidays. Prices for pre-owned Overseas models in stainless steel start at around €20,000-28,000 (three-hand without date, ref. 4500V), €25,000-35,000 with date (ref. 4500V/Date or older 7900V). Overseas Chronograph models (ref. 5500V) are priced between €35,000-55,000. Gold versions and bicolour variants start at €40,000+; Overseas Tourbillon and Perpetual Calendar significantly higher. The discontinued predecessor references (Overseas 49150) are now coveted collector's items.
Vacheron Constantin Patrimony - Pure elegance
The Patrimony epitomises classic watchmaking in its purest form. Ultra-flat cases (often less than 7 mm), minimalist dials, narrow lugs, timeless round shape. Perfect for formal occasions and business - the ideal choice under the cuff. Prices: pre-owned Patrimony models (4100U Self-winding, 1110U Manual) start at around €12,000-18,000 for classic 3-hand references. Complications such as moon phase, full calendar or retrograde functions are between €25,000-80,000+. Vintage patrimony from the 1950s-1970s is increasingly in demand on the collectors' market.
Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle - Heritage meets modernity
The Traditionnelle collection combines the classic art of watchmaking with modern design. Angular lugs, fluted bezel, characteristic "Maltese Cross" second wheel on many references. Available with a wide range of complications - from simple hand-wound models to grande complications such as the tourbillon perpetual calendar, minute repeater or the 14-day power reserve movements. Prices start at around €15,000 for simple three-hand watches and can reach over €100,000 for highly complicated models.
Métiers d'Art - craftsmanship at the highest level
The Métiers d'Art line is VC's stage for craftsmanship: enamel cloisonné, enamel champlevé, engraving, gem-setting, marquetry on dial scale. Limited series of a maximum of a few hundred pieces. Wearable works of art, often combined with complex complications - and suitable for investment due to their rarity.

All modern Vacheron Constantin watches bear the prestigious Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal) - one of the strictest quality certifications in the watch industry. The seal guarantees Swiss origin (assembly in Geneva), the highest quality of workmanship, craftsmanship according to twelve detailed criteria and precise adjustment. Only a handful of manufacturers fulfil these criteria - VC bears the seal on all movements from around 2005 onwards.
What you should look out for when buying a used VC
Vacheron Constantin is one of the most stable watch brands - and is also the "insider tip" among the big three. Like Royal Oak and Nautilus, the Overseas has increased significantly in value in recent years, but is still priced well below its competitors - making it potentially the most exciting investment from the Holy Trinity. Vintage Patrimony models from the 1950s-1970s are extremely sought-after by collectors; limited editions and Métiers d'Art watches (masterpieces of craftsmanship) are continually increasing in value.
Particularly stable in value: Overseas (all references, especially 4500V and 5500V in steel), Patrimony with complications, historical models with provenance and limited editions from the Métiers d'Art workshop. The limited annual production (approx. 20,000-25,000 watches worldwide - less than a quarter of AP, a fraction of Rolex) makes every VC a rarity.
