Workshop standards from Switzerland
Our staff watchmaker previously worked at Rolex in Switzerland. The standard we apply at the bench matches what Rolex itself expects in service.

Full overhaul, crystal replacement, water resistance, authentication. In Munich, by the same watchmaker who previously sat at the bench at Rolex in Switzerland.
Time Boutique Munich runs its own watchmaking workshop with a permanently employed, trained master watchmaker. Previous tenure at Rolex in Switzerland, decades at the bench. Every Rolex that comes into our workshop passes through the same hands — no outsourcing, no subcontractors.
Whether Submariner, Daytona, GMT-Master, Datejust, Day-Date, Yacht-Master, Explorer or Lady-Datejust: you can bring your watch to Munich in person or send it insured from anywhere in Europe. We provide a detailed estimate before anything happens to the movement. Service, maintenance, repair, bezel replacement, bracelet work, polishing or cleaning — every enquiry is inspected first, then discussed, then touched. A defective Rolex receives the same workshop discipline as one coming in for a scheduled overhaul.

We use only manufacture oils (Moebius, Microgliss) and work to original specifications for every caliber range — Cal. 3135, 3235, 4130, 4131. No improvisation.
For vintage and neo-vintage pieces we never polish without your explicit approval. Edges, lugs and original chamfers stay intact — even if that takes more discipline.
Every full overhaul is delivered with a documented service protocol and 12 months warranty on the movement. Water resistance is confirmed by pressure testing to manufacturer specification.
For decades Rolex has built on a small number of extremely robust calibers: 3135 in the Datejust 36 and older-generation Submariner, 3235 in the modern Datejust and Submariner Date, 4130 in the Daytona (from 2000), 4131 in the current Daytona (from 2023). Each caliber has its own service intervals, lubrication points and tolerances — we know them.
Costs vary depending on the model, caliber, condition and scope. A standard Datejust overhaul sits on a different scale to a Daytona or Yacht-Master II — and a single repair, bezel swap or bracelet service on yet another. A concrete assessment is made after intake inspection. Every estimate is free of charge and without obligation, no hidden items. For a first indication by phone we are reachable in Munich at +49 89 38164962.
Movement opened, ultrasonically cleaned, worn parts (winding stem, click springs, mainsprings) replaced, lubricated with manufacture oils, rates re-regulated in five positions. The flagship service for Rolex.
Sapphire crystal (with or without Cyclops lens for Datejust models) replaced to original Rolex specification. New gasket, followed by water resistance test. Done within a few days.
Dry and wet pressure testing to the relevant manufacturer specification — 100 m for Datejust, 300 m for Submariner, 1,220 m for Sea-Dweller. Gaskets replaced where needed.
Only on request. We do not polish by default. If you wish, with absolute restraint — original chamfers and edge shapes are preserved, no material loss at the lugs. Cleaning of case, bracelet and clasp is included with every full overhaul.
Bezel replacement (Cerachrom, aluminium, gold) and bracelet repair — links, clasp, safety catch. Includes a full gasket set: crystal gasket, case-back, crown, pushers. Also available individually after a crystal or bracelet swap.
Verification against the original reference: movement, dial, hands, crown, crystal, bezel, bracelet, clasp. Documentation of all markings, serial number, inscriptions. Important before buying or selling.
Send photos and a brief description. Helmut, our master watchmaker, responds within 24 hours with a professional assessment and a transparent cost range — no obligation.

Materials: Oystersteel (Rolex's in-house variant of 904L, named that since 2018) is a pleasure to polish — but shows every step. Everose, Cerachrom bezels and the older Submariner's aluminium bezel each have their own requirements. We treat every surface separately — and none without your approval. Even in Munich, many Rolex repairs are still quoted before the watch is properly inspected. Not here: a defect, a wear pattern, a bezel swap or a service backlog often looks different from the outside than at the open movement. Only afterwards can we say honestly what the maintenance actually needs.
You send photos and the reference number by email or phone. We make an initial assessment of what the watch needs and give you a rough scope.
Personal handover at the atelier in Grünwald or insured shipping from anywhere in Europe (UPS, DHL Express, Hermes Premium). Return shipping is included in the service price.
