Lady-Datejust, Datejust 31 and Oyster Perpetual - three ways to wear a Rolex
A Rolex ladies' watch is not a smaller version of a men's watch. They are independent models, with their own mechanics, their own proportions and their own collector's logic. We have three lines that cover the entire feminine Rolex vocabulary.
Rolex Lady-Datejust: The icon among ladies' watches - the measure of all things since 1957. With its 26mm or 28mm case, it strikes the finest balance between elegance and functionality. The characteristic date window with cyclops magnifying glass and the five-piece Jubilé bracelet characterise the look; the enormous range of dials and designs makes every Lady-Datejust unique. Bicolour models (Rolesor Yellow or Everose) with a diamond bezel and a mother-of-pearl or champagne dial are particularly popular. Vintage Lady-Datejusts from the 1980s and 1990s, often with hand-applied diamond dial indices, are now considered collector's items of the highest calibre.
Rolex Datejust 31: For wearers who want more presence on their wrist - without switching to the men's vocabulary. The 31mm case offers additional space for more elaborate indices: Roman numerals in diamond, Mother of Pearl with floral accents, aubergine or mint green dial. Models with a Jubilé bracelet and diamond-set bezel are particularly popular. The Datejust 31 combines sporty elegance with unmistakable feminine charm.
Rolex Oyster Perpetual: The sporty, elegant alternative. In sizes 28mm and 31mm, it embodies the pure Rolex style without a date function - reduced lines, bold colours. The younger generation has given the model a new language: Candy Pink, Turquoise Blue, Coral Red, Yellow. Perfect for women who prefer clear design and modern colour accents to decorative tradition.
Why buy a pre-owned Rolex ladies' watch?
The pragmatic reason: 20-40% cheaper than at authorised dealers - for identical references in comparable condition. The collector's reason: unique vintage details and dial variants that are no longer available on new models. Discontinued Diamond Dial Lady Datejusts from the late 1990s, early 31s with hand-applied indices, vintage Oyster Perpetual with Tropical Dial - the second-hand market is often the only source. What's more, Rolex watches are known for their exceptional value retention. A well-maintained Rolex ladies' watch retains its value for decades and can even increase in value with the right references.
Rolex ladies' watches as a store of value and investment
Rolex ladies' watches maintain their value in a league that few jewellery categories can match. Particularly rare Lady-Datejusts with special dials - Diamond Dial, Mother of Pearl, Aventurine - as well as limited editions are continually increasing in value. Vintage models from the 1980s and 1990s are fetching top prices on the collectors' market; Everose bicolour and yellow-rose combinations in original condition are currently in particularly high demand. Three characteristics drive the value: complete documentation (box, papers, service receipts), original condition without "redial" and sought-after material combinations.
At Time Boutique, we give you honest advice on the investment potential and value appreciation of each reference. Authentication and authenticity check at Time Boutique
Counterfeit ladies' watches are more technically sophisticated than they were ten years ago - a mere visual inspection is rarely enough. Every Rolex ladies' watch that leaves our premises therefore undergoes a multi-stage authentication process. Our certified watchmakers first check the serial number between the lugs (for older models) or in the rehaut (from 2005), compare it against Rolex reference databases and verify whether it matches the production era of the reference. This is followed by the movement inspection: the case is opened, the calibre is inspected against the reference, the finish of the bridges and the originality of the screws are checked. The Cyclops magnifier must magnify exactly 2.5 times, the second hand must run absolutely smoothly without ticking and every engraving must appear razor-sharp.
For ladies' watches in particular, we check the dial under a 10× magnifying glass against original documentation - especially for diamond dials, where counterfeiters like to use stones with the wrong cut. We guarantee that every Rolex at Time Boutique is 100% authentic. You will receive a certificate of authenticity with a documented test report, a 12-month guarantee on the movement and can contact our experts at any time if you have any questions.
Care and maintenance of your Rolex ladies' watch
A Rolex is built to last for generations, provided it is understood. Wear the watch regularly - the automatic movement remains optimally lubricated through movement; long periods of inactivity cause the oils to thicken. We recommend a full service every 5-7 years: movement cleaning, oiling, gasket replacement, water-resistance test. At Time Boutique, we offer the service for all Rolex ladies' watch models in our workshop in the Munich Atelier - polishing only on express request and only where the watch deserves it; in the case of vintage ladies' Datejusts, the original patina is added value, not damage. 12 months warranty after the service.
Between services: clean the wristband regularly with lukewarm water and a soft brush, never with solvents or ultrasound without specialist testing. Avoid extreme temperature fluctuations and strong magnetic fields - modern triggers are tablet cases, smartphone holders and fridge magnets, no longer just classic speakers. Keep the watch and original box away from direct sunlight. If they come into contact with water - swimming pool, sauna or salt water - have the seals checked before the first use.
