Counterfeit ladies' watches are more technically sophisticated than they were ten years ago - a mere visual inspection is rarely enough. Every Rolex ladies' watch that leaves our premises therefore undergoes a multi-stage authentication process. Our certified watchmakers first check the serial number between the lugs (for older models) or in the rehaut (from 2005), compare it against Rolex reference databases and verify whether it matches the production era of the reference. This is followed by the movement inspection: the case is opened, the calibre is inspected against the reference, the finish of the bridges and the originality of the screws are checked. The Cyclops magnifier must magnify exactly 2.5 times, the second hand must run absolutely smoothly without ticking and every engraving must appear razor-sharp.
For ladies' watches in particular, we check the dial under a 10× magnifying glass against original documentation - especially for diamond dials, where counterfeiters like to use stones with the wrong cut. A Rolex is built to last for generations, provided it is understood. Wear the watch regularly - the automatic movement remains optimally lubricated through movement; long periods of inactivity cause the oils to thicken. We recommend a full service every 5-7 years: movement cleaning, oiling, gasket replacement, water-resistance test. At Time Boutique, we offer the service for all Rolex ladies' watch models in our workshop in the Munich Atelier - polishing only on express request and only where the watch deserves it; in the case of vintage ladies' Datejusts, the original patina is added value, not damage. 12 months warranty after the service.
Between services: clean the wristband regularly with lukewarm water and a soft brush, never with solvents or ultrasound without specialist testing. Avoid extreme temperature fluctuations and strong magnetic fields - modern triggers are tablet cases, smartphone holders and fridge magnets, no longer just classic speakers. Keep the watch and original box away from direct sunlight. If they come into contact with water - swimming pool, sauna or salt water - have the seals checked before the first use.
